Endless long sand beaches and dunes without too many people, fresh fish, quiet, rural village life and a beautiful backcountry with large pine woods, endless bull pastures and white villages; all this is the Costa de la Luz on the Andalusian Atlantic coast!
The small town of Conil and the surrounding area where our vacation villas are located are extremely varied. An old town centre with Moorish-Andalusian character, kilometre long sand beaches, pine woods and dunes, a good infrastructure of sport and leisure activities, restaurants, bars, bodegas and discotheques ensure entertainment throughout the day and far into the night for those who wish to take part.
The region of the Costa de la Luz is only frequented by few foreigners, thus the character is more Spanish than that of the Mediterranean, without compromising the leisure possibilities.
Roche Viejo lies approx. 5 km to the north of Conil next to a large pine forest. A small fishing harbour with daily fish auctions is only 800 m away. Fuente del Gallo is 2,5 km from the centre of Conil away and only approx. 300 m from a long sand beach. It is a high class quiet vacation villa garden settlement with all amenities.
Zahora and El Palmar, 8 and 12 km to the south of Conil are small villages located directly on endlessly long sand beaches. The private villa settlement Roche is located directly on the Atlantic with an approx. 5 km long fine sand beach, set in between a unique pine forest between Chiclana and Conil. Superb villas and very pretty summer houses, surrounded by well-kept gardens dominate the scenery.
Shopping possibilities, restaurants, tennis courts, riding, squash courts, large common swimming pool (open 15.07.-31.08.; entrance fee to be paid separately). Several golf courses nearby.
All houses are on large, private properties, the gardens are maintained by gardeners and there are car parks. The house pools are in service all year-round.
Extremely mild winters (usually one can walk around in short-sleeves and eat outdoors), a very high number of sunny hours per year, and winds that make the summer heat bearable, make for a pleasant holiday experience at any time of year.
Unlike the in large parts completely built-up Mediterranean coast, the Spanish Atlantic coast is still fairly untouched. Endless beaches, pine woods, cork trees and wild olive trees, large meadows and vineyards dominate the landscape. White villages sit on hill tops. Trips to places like Gibralter, Cádiz, Seville and Jerez (home of the Sherry and the Spanish Riding School) can easily made from our holiday house locations around Conil.
A crossing to Africa (Tanger or Ceuta) will lead you into a different world, which none the less influenced Andalusia for centuries.
So the Costa de la Luz is the ideal holiday region for vacation villas, on the one-hand for enjoying the fabulous beaches, and on the other hand for making trips to the villages, towns and natural beauties, for which Andalusia is world-famous. The leisure activities include surfing, sailing, golf and tennis courts, cycling and riding.
